This is not good.

I had not ran since last Monday. I was resting by doing strength training and stretching as well as riding the bike and rollerblading until today. I was going to run three miles today and hope that my legs felt better. I made it .5 miles and I had to stop. I wanted to actually cry. The pain hit me in waves for many hours after. It reminded me of labor contractions--I would be sitting there and then get hit by a pain that would roll through for about 15 seconds and then go away for 30 seconds. It's very weird and discouraging.

I am going to make an appointment to see a doctor and in the meantime I will do the bike, elliptical and strength training. I hope it's not serious.

I just found your blog via someone who reads my blog. Thought I would say HI. I was reading your post a few down about the lower leg/not quite calf pain. I have it too! In my right leg, not in front, not in back but on the side. And it hurts!!! It ruined my run yesterday. I had it before and my coach seemd to think I was dehydrated. Hmm. Anway, look forward to reading you. I am going to join on and follow you.

Hello, I am a beginning runner who is looking for answers. I have been running for about 2 months now and after a 2 mile run on Monday I felt that same pain. It's the most annoying thing. I ignored it on tuesday and ran three miles, then I intended to run three miles yesterday but after a mile and a half the pain was to annoying. It's really frustrating. I also have pain in my knee. I don't know what to do.

I too am a military spouse and took up running as my "anti depressant" and found a love for a sport I never thought was possible!

Just wanted to say hi and to cheer you on! Go girl, go!
